Jennifer Hickey, VoCA, Voices in Contemporary Art

Jennifer Hickey

Jennifer Hickey is the Paintings Conservator for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. A specialist in the study and treatment of 20th and 21st century paintings, she has previously held positions at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Joan Mitchell Foundation, and the National Gallery of Art, among others. Jennifer’s research has focused on the materials and process of postwar American painters, including Joan Mitchell, Robert Rauschenberg, and Jackson Pollock. She is interested in how historical conservation decision-making approaches resonate within and shape the current profession. Jennifer received her MA in the History of Art and Archaeology with an Advanced Certificate in Art Conservation from the Conservation Center of The Institute of Fine Arts, New York University.
