Lauren Shadford , Executive Director

Ms. Shadford is the Executive Director of Voices in Contemporary Art, a leading nonprofit organization that advances artist-centered practices in the research, presentation, and preservation of contemporary art. In this role, Ms. Shadford partners with a diverse range of museums, academic institutions, non-profit organizations, artist-endowed foundations, philanthropic partners, and independent contemporary arts colleagues. Before VoCA, Ms. Shadford managed Sotheby’s Museum Services, engaging institutions across the United States on projects ranging from deaccessioning, appraisals, and exhibition sponsorships. She holds an M.A. in Visual Arts Administration with a focus on Non-for-Profit management from the Steinhardt School at New York University and a B.A. in Art History from Connecticut College. Currently, she is a member of the Held in Trust Advisory Council.
